The Ever Moving Thing Story 

As always, King posed a challenging question to test Birbal’s intelligence. He asked his courtiers to answer a question.

The question was, “What is the ever-moving thing?”

Hearing the question, one courtier said, “Your Majesty, it’s the sun.”

“No. It’s the moon….Your Majesty,” another replied.

“It’s our planet, the Earth, which is always on the move.”

But all these answers could not please King Akbar. He had not got a truly intelligent answer yet. So, he turned to Birbal and posed the same question to him.

As an answer, Birbal said, “Your Majesty, it’s the interest on the money that we take from a moneylender. The amount of interest keeps moving without fail and never gets tired. This goes on till we payback, so it seems ever moving to us.”

Now King Akbar was fully satisfied with Birbal’s answer.
