Eight Feet Away Story

One day Birbal sat in the royal court. King Akbar was in a jovial mood. So he decided to tease Birbal to pass time. He knew that Birbal’s reply will surely entertain him.

So, King Akbar asked Birbal, “Birbal, tell me the difference between you and a donkey?”

Birbal looked at the King and then he looked at the floor. He seemed to be calculating something.

A while later, Birbal bowed to the King and made his witty comment, “Your Majesty, the difference is about eight feet of distance?”

King Akbar realized what Birbal had done. In his jolly wit, he had called the King a donkey.
